Tennyson:
Mariana, The Lady of Shalott, The Palace of Art
Reading
Tennyson
There is so much demand for my two chapters on Blake that it is clear
that A-level students in particular are avid for help with reading their
set poems. I have never before written on Tennyson, though I have often
taught him, and have plenty of material on him for an essay, culminating
in a close reading of a single poem (which connects with many others,
particularly Mariana and The Palace of Art), The Lady
of Shalott.
